Church Leadership

Eric Mock

Lead Pastor

Eric worked as a flight test engineer for ten years on various military aircraft programs, fulfilling a childhood dream to work at Johnson Space Center on the International Space Station and on the Space Shuttle program. Yet in 1999, God convicted Eric’s heart that he was living a fake Christian life. Eric, with saving faith in Jesus, repented of his sins and began following hard after God. Leaving extended family, friends, and dreams behind, the Mock family moved in 2002 to Rockford, Illinois, to begin ministry with Slavic Gospel Association (SGA). Eric and Kristi travel throughout the nations of the former Soviet Union, and across the USA, to serve faithful Bible-preaching churches as they preach God’s Word and reach out to the community around them with the life saving and changing Gospel. Eric’s passion is to see God’s people serve and live their lives on mission for the sake of Christ. In 2007, Eric and Kristi moved to Pecatonica and, after feeling called to begin a local ministry, planted River’s Edge Bible Church. Eric continues his missionary ministry with SGA as the Vice President of Ministry Operations while serving as the lead pastor of River’s Edge. Kristi serves along side Eric in ministry to women and children our local church, and internationally. Eric has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, an M.B.A in International Development, and a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. They have three children,  six grandchildren on earth and three grandchildren in heaven.
