God designed the church, a fellowship of believers, to lovingly strive side by side for the sake of the Gospel. Such a fellowship is formed and designed by God, filled with joy in worship of God and zeal for living on mission together for Christ.
The local church are those who are set apart in Christ by his saving grace, a structured body of holy ones who find their contentment and joy in living life on mission for Jesus, seeking to honor Him alone in obedient service.
The cure for gnostic Christianity is an ever increasing and deeper love of Christ shaped by knowledge of Him and obedience to His calling for you, for the greatness of God was revealed to us in the inexhaustible love and life of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.
Jesus is God and Savior. Such belief does not flow from God providing us enough evidence of that truth, but that God opens our heart to believe that Jesus is all Whom He said that He is. Great faith does not come from a greater number of signs or proofs, but from a greater love and devotion to Jesus as Lord and Savior.
The tomb was empty, and Jesus did all that He said He would do. Yet a seemingly impossible situation revealed a shortfall in faith, a faith needed to connect God's Word to the life we each live. We are reminded that our peace is only found when we walk by faith, and not by sight.
As followers of Christ, we are to live our lives in love as God has displayed His love. This is in contrast to love as the world defines it, yet many will attempt to deceive you that it is. Only God's love has at it's core the desire to satisfy Him rather than self.
There is no authority other than God himself, yet in that authority God displayed amazing grace as He laid down His life before wicked and faithless men for those wicked and faithless people He loved.
Text: John 19:7-12
Love is not an expression or feeling, but it is deeper. It is a bond that transcends hardship and hopelessness and transcends time itself.
In Christ we are given a peace unshakable, a peace of God's presence and promise. Jesus secured this peace both at the cross and through conquering death. And this peace is ours through faith, as without this faith we will remain in fear and hopelessness in this world.
The world seeks to unravel and destroy the things of God, exalting man and worldly things above God. We even fight this in our flesh. But Jesus ever prays for us, and lifts us up before our Father that would guard and protect us, so that we would be united in walking and proclaiming His love and His truth.
People do not come to faith in Jesus, to a life transformed by His Word, through superior thinking or even response to crisis. People come to faith in Jesus as God reveals it to them as Truth. And this Truth - eternal life and peace in Jesus.
